This film pays tribute to the Winter Guard's legendary final performance, their undying devotion, and their love for one another.
Inspired by true events right after championships, it ironically also had the same technical issues, preventing it from being screened at the Cesar Chavez Highschool end of year film festival.
A smaller screening was held amongst members at a later date! <3

A creative twist on multi-camera video making inspired by the show's concept.
I wanted to highlight color guard since I had never heard of it until my senior year of high school and wanted to show how amazing of an experience one could make it!

Experience
Directing
It was my first time directing such a large group of people, this included instructors, a crew capturing multi-cam sequences and multiple conversational scenes at a time across the gym as well as the team itself. This required projection across the room (somewhat lost my voice but it's okay!) as well as delegating tasks. Especially since I would be performing and in half of the shots.
The film was shot in only two half days and archival material was used to fill in over an added voice over. The acting sequence in the beginning required meticulous matching between cuts, although it appears to be a single take, it's actually composed of three! I knew I wanted the opening to have the strongest production value, and so the living room scene was staged in a warehouse at Tracy and took half a day (the same as Killher Fashion!).
Special shout out to George Brias for the mentorship provided throughout the course of this project (and continued support).
